My Zune (tm) has given me new appreciation for Jurassic 5 and The Wu

I really didn't listen to their stuff that much before I got my Zune (tm, support MS) and now I can't stop listening to them. I've got Quality Control, the EP J5, and Power in Numbers

I love this group so much.

I'm listening to tons of artists I hadn't previously listened to much, like the Wu and 36 Chambers.

36 Chambers

Classic album; there are so many standout tracks and verses. You'll really love it a few months later after you've fully digested it. Who's your favorite member of the Clan? I love Ghostface's solo stuff, and GZA is amazing too oh man. Inspecta Deck and Method Man really shine on 36 Chambers

J5 is awesome too. Quality Control and Power in Numbers are both VERY good albums.

Same here. On first listen I mainly gravitated to the singles like CREAM while shunning some of the other stuff. It's not the type of album that knocks you off your feat initially. The production slowly reveals itself to you, and you "hear" more lyrics with multiple listens. Now it's one of my favorite hip hop albums; I've been listening to Wu related stuff for weeks now. In terms of sheer battle raps, what group can match classics like Protect Ya Neck and Wu Tang Ain't Nuthin to Fuck With?

After 36 Chambers I got Liquid Swords, which is also great. The production is more focused, as is the album as a whole because there aren't a lot of guest appearances - although most of the Wu members show up and drop great verses. Lyrically, GZA is probably the best rapper in the Clan and it shows on nearly every song. This isn't on Liquid Swords, but check it out (and watch the video):

After Liquid Swords I got Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. It's a great album - RZA's production really reaches amazing levels on it. It feels more like a Wu album due to the large amount of features. And while I like Rae, he gets outshined on nearly every song. It's clear every member writes their verses with the intent to be the very best ha. Nas even shows up and drops a hip hop quotable verse
