since i have a decent PC now i've been checking out different games. what are your favorite PC games the past 2 or 3 years?

I just finished HL2 E1 last week roughly, it was amazing. Right now i'm playing BF 2142, and its really fun. my new favorite FPS i think.

I really only enjoy playing RTS games on my PC. Everything else I prefer on a console with a control pad.

But I miss the old school flight sims/shooters like TIE Fighter and Wing Commander. Late 80's/Early 90's PC gaming was fuck awesome.

X3 reunion is cool, but i did not get to far into it.

yeah i used to play it, i should install it now i have a newer PC.

there are new expansion packs, they are much better? graphics etc?

I'm still addicted to playing Medal of Honor Allied Assault that game rocked so much when it had a huge online community. 9000+ players every night from 9pm-5am. I made a shit load of maps for it as well. Then the expansion came out and the game went to shit.

Oh and Homeworld 2 thats fucking awesome too.

Company of Heroes and Galactic Civilizations 2 rock my house, currently. Rise of Legends is great stuff, too.

I played the MoH:AA online demo for like 2 months straight. The two maps it had Anzio and Palermo were so much fun. That game had such great weapon balance .. too bad every release after that was shitty.

I should dig up an old copy and get back online.

Cubicle: I look at Medieval Total War and wish so hard for them to make a game set in the napoleonic wars. Those were the last classic battles

I used to play exclusively Battlefield 2 and World of Warcraft, but now I'm just casually playing the latter. I don't know if I'll get Battlefield FUTURE WARZ or whatever it's called. I think I'm Battlefielded out for the time being.

I am excited about Team Fortress 2, though.

They'll probably cover that time period next if they decide to stick with primarily western civilizations. Maybe from the end of Medieval 2 up to the Civil War.

The PC is a funny platform for me. I can probably count the amount of games I've purchased for it in the past three years on two hands, but I spend more time playing PC games than anything else.

I play a fair bit of CoH and WoW these days, but now that I have my ps2 set up at my desk I play LOTS of PS2. I mean I dumped 50+ hours into disgaea 2 and 54 hours into Valkyrie Profile 2 just recently

Tips? Set the AI for Easy in a medium/small galaxy the first time and learn the ropes. Always have planets building constructor ships to upgrade starbases when they aren't building military vessels. Don't colonize more than six planets until the late mid-game. Focus on one major trunk of the research tree. Don't neglect trade, or keeping the planet populations reasonably happy with entertainment networks and social spending.

It's definitely a massive multi-tasking game. Still, it's worth it to design massive ships encumbered with ridiculous weapon counts and do a little orbital bombing.

cool man, i think i started off with too be a map so that's why i did not get far, i could not conquer thier planets or something.

anyhow, fresh install coming up will se if i can get into it again. reminds me of MoO.

#3 though is crazy hard

I've come from games and gone...
I played a TON of starcraft when it came out.... 18 hours a day on weekends, and every waking moment not at school.

Warcraft III, I was addicted, but after the first few weeks I could only max out to ~8 hours a day instead of just wanting to go all out for all 16 hours.

TFC, Addicted, but just like war3... maxed out to that amount per day. Same with CS (I think I played a little more CS than TFC).

War3 was ~2 years, got my 3000 ladder games in at like ~83%... not GREAT but still intimidating.

WoW was one year.. like feb or march of 04 to march of 05.. That was ~12 hours a day on average...

The only game that I just have that random urge at times still to this day.. is the greatest and best game of all time. It's by far the most dominating competitive game of all time. It's just the all around greatest game every created on the face of the earth and still has one of the largest group of people playing it's incredibly outdated online system even today.

I played some this evening, and the last few days.... something about it... the most incredible game ever.

that sucks, when you buy a new one pay the extra $10 or $20 and get a really nice one. my old computer i had to replace the PS and it sucked.

As for recent games, I liked Darwinia, BF2 a little bit, WoW a little bit and Guild Wars a lot. Titan Quest isn't bad.
