iirc from my PSOne days the ePSXe emulator or whatever gave me the bust luck. The real trick was finding the right combination of video/audio plugins.

i forget the emu i tired it in, worked fine. a few years ago i think i tried it in bleem and whatnot but it would only play the music. maybe i'll check that out. i'm going to play Oblivion soon maybe finish the main quest off.

For PSX games, I use pSX:
http://psxemulator.gazaxian.com/

The only actual PS1 game I've got is DQ7, and it runs that straight from the discs like butter. I haven't tried any other game at all, but it's a lot nicer than having to get various plugins for ePSXe.

The two best, always updated emu sites are:

http://www.emulator-zone.com/
and
http://ngemu.com/

As for your question there are hardly any PS2 emulators out there and the one that works best, PCSX2
hardly works good. Expect bearly any playable games, bugs, crashes, etc. They are constantly working no it however, and its making progress fast so I hear. Check the ngemu forums for updates.
