Where are all the good racing games gonna come from. Polyphony Digital doesn't make racing games, they make car collecting simulators with handling like my ass (too wide and stops a lot). Forza is an also-ran. Other than Wipeout, where are the racing games gonna go?

And I think it's already been confirmed that Bizarre are making a new racing game for Activision. The PGR brand is clearly not worth shit any more commercially so that's no bad thing...

Who cares. Nothing touches the arcade racers from the likes of Sega (the best), Namco, and others. Sega has a new racer coming out this year, and you just know Namco will offer up the inevitable Ridge Racer sequel.

I miss Isamu

Forza 2 is the first sim racer to really grab me, I've never played a racer in MT mode all the time with the assists off and had so much fun. I am super gay for the car damage and painting and the boner-inducing awesomeness of the physics engine when you accidentally get rearended at 200mph.

I still play Outrun2 regularly on 360 and on PSP because it's fuck awesome :bowtrun

I like PGR4 cos it's pretty.

Aside from that, there haven't been enough arcade racers to go around, it seems that the Ridge Racer team only appears at console hardware launches, and Daytona 3 is never happening (I go drinking with a lot of AV guys and they are stuck on Ryu Ga Gotoku for the rest of their lives, plus EA has the license forever). I have the feeling that Sega Race TV may be crap and I haven't seen it available anywhere.

I wish there'd be an Outrun 3 but OR2 performed really badly in the arcade and I'm not how sales were on home versions.

Sho Nuff, if EA has the license forever, then why is Daytona International Speedway in Gran Turismo 5 Prologue? Next time you see anyone working for AV, tell them that the day Daytona USA 3 hits arcades will be the greatest day of my life. Either that, or an announcement that Sega Racing Studio is doing it for home consoles.
