And you know what, this is the way it should be.

Some asshat nerd who lost a wife in the tragedy was on CNN just now bitching about how we should put a priority on finding remains instead of rebuilding. Well, let's see, what about all those unsolved cases from the mob days? What about the people who were killed from the mob back in the day who were dumped in the ocean and never found? What about the people stuffed in trunks and sent to a chopshop? What about THEIR family members? What makes the guy on CNN holier than thou? Fuckin' taco.

You know, whining and being a pussy about it doesn't convey strength. Grieving is nice and all, but whining publically... the raghead assholes laugh in our face when they see these little videos and news clips.

It's time to move on, America.

What it comes down to, for me, is this:

I will never step a foot in that new building. It holds no value for me as a symbol and the NY skyline is fine as it is. While I hold very few real feelings for the 9/11 event, I DO respect the feelings of others. I cannot deny the person the right to grieve. Especially when making things 'right' for them requires so little from me. I dont LIVE in NY, I dont even pretend my personal tax dollars are going to the efforts to find the remains.

This isnt about US moving on, its about THEM moving on. However, since their family members were in the building that was engulfed in flames from jet fuel and eventually collapsed under its own weight, and mine were not, I am not qualified to measure the relevence of their sorrow.

It important to note that being strong, and looking strong are not the same thing. If a person isn't given the opportunity to heal inside, whatever they appear to be on the outside will not matter much when tested by outside forces.

It's not about disrespecting the feelings of others. Have a stance doesn't disrespect. Nothing can be written right for the people who lost loved ones. Death is final.

How about losing family members from doctors' mistakes when they could have been easily saved? That's a taste of my shoes. Don't even talk about being qualified, because I do think I'm quite there. It's not up to the country to stay in the same grieving spot as these famlies... yes, sure, the famlies may not be moving on, but it'd be a selfish, dumbfuck thing of them to do to complain and bitch about new buildings being a priority rather than looking for remains. They can grieve on their own time, not the US's.

With no commentary on the rest of the thread, I have to say I sort of agree with the orginal poster's point.

These 9/11 families just need to let it go. Of course I realize that I not easy to do, and their loss on 9/11 will never leave them, I just feel like the media gives them an outlet for their own personal rantings.

I think in many ways the media is contributing to many of these families not moving on. They know they're gonna have a microphone to yell into anytime they want, so why not just keep on complaining about something in hopes of just somehow making that loved one come back. I really don't believe most of them will ever stop complaining about something. It's like they don't want the rest of the world to move on, and rebuild those buildings because they're still feeling so much pain, and loss.

It's sad to watch.
