Author Topic: So uh, my mom is moving in with me. (Read 2396 times)

I just got a phone call from my mom a few minutes ago and the first thing she asks is "How attached are you to your home theater?" I'm just caught off guard and ask "Uhh, why?"

She then goes on to explain to me that she broke up with boyfriend of 3 years. Just really kind of shocked me. I had never seen them fight at all. My mom would never say anything about them fighting and she was always very open about that kind of thing. They were really the sweetest couple I had ever seen. My mom had Lasik Surgery about a year back and they messed up. She could no longer read anything up close at all. Her eyesight actually was worse afterwards. I went to dinner with them not too long afterwards and it was sweet because he would read the menu to my mom. I don't think I've ever thought the imblownaway.jpg was every more appropriate for me.

Going to be weird talking to females now when they ask

"So do you live by yourself?"

"No, my mom lives with me!"

"You mean, you live with your mom?"

"No, she lives with me!"

"Uh huh, suuuure."

She didn't have much time to talk, but she said that it had a lot to do with him not making any effort to move forward. It really bothers me because I had never seen my mom that happy. After her and my dad divorced, she didn't really date at all until all of us moved out (14 yrs or so). She worked 3 jobs, 7am to 11pm and very seldom went out for herself. Less than 6 months after all of her children moved out, she finally found someone who made her happy. But I guess it just wasn't making her happy anymore.

My daughter will be very happy. She doesn't get to see her that often because my mom lives on the other side of Houston. I'm really happy my baby gets to spend more time with her grandma too.

hehe, she's welcome for as long as she wants. My mom and I are very similar and we enjoy a lot of the same things. Getting along won't be a problem at all. I would set up a chore list for her, but both of us are very clean to begin with.
