In retrospect, is Ninten.dogs an historically important game?
« on: January 02, 2008, 03:36:34 AM »
I think it's one of the most important games of this decade? It saved a floundering DS brand and probably encouraged Nintendo to continue in the same direction with the Wii.

I think it needs to be mentioned in the same breath as FF7 for the PS1, Halo for the Xbox and GTA3 for the PS2 as far as landmark titles.

I agree, it was also the beginning of nintendo's change in focus on the mainstream crowd to the more casual crowd . In a way it shaped the future of gaming, for better or worse.

The reason I bought it is because I moved overseas while my dog (shetland sheepdog) stayed home...so I bought the version that had shetland sheepdogs in it to keep me company. :lol

Yeah, pretty sad.

It's funny you notice that, I actually had a short debate with myself on what to do.

Yes, this is important too. Many people think after the success of the DS, Nintendo scratched whatever other plans they had for Wii and went the GC Turbo route. Rather, I think they planned the GC Turbo route long before the DS started picking up steam, after the failure that was the GC.
