Yeah, but we're talking about the lifetime of the format - not your lifetime. One could argue in ten years, we'll have something even better than BRD or HDDVD. In that span, I'm not going to watch, say, Schindler's List twice. I mean, if you believe you're going to watch a movie multiple times - go for the big purchase. Or heck, if you have the disposable income and you like collecting them, go for it. I'm not discrediting your purchases. But with the advent of Netflix and online rentals, I personally find it real hard to invest much, if anything, on DVD collections. The last movie I purchased was Pan's Labyrinth, which I've already seen three times. The next DVD I'll get will be a gift - Flash Gordon: Savior of the Universe Edition, so I can finally throw out my bootleg (the R1 original has been long out of print) and added to the fact that I've probably viewed that movie like four or five times within the past two years.
