DEMI DEMI DEMI

Gimme the scoop. What's the deal with this version? Good? I got the Wii version for christmas for a second playthrough (for free deal at toysrus), so I thought I'd play through it, but then I realized that there's like no reason to play it when it is on 360.

how are the achievements? good ya?

ahem

BEFORE i became a PS3 overlord, one of the last 360 games I had the -unfortunate- priviledge to complete (1000) was Tomb Raider Anniversary.

Now, funny you mention the Wii version, because I have it too (expect a review soon enough, i have been slacking on my expert Wii reviews). You were right in wasting your time. It's abyssssmal.

The achievements are good, and similar to Legend's. One major huge tip, before you play it. Make sure you save a lot (emphasis - LOT), because, there are achievements for not dying in a level, or doing certain bits without dying (example: the lightning in haephestus, getting the four egyptian relics). If you die, and reload from a save, it doesn't count as a death. It's like cheating!

Also, use a guide for the relics and artifacts, there are achievements for getting all of them in a world.

I thought it was crappy, because for a "remake" they completely assed out on fighting Larsen, Kid, etc. The shoved in little story moments (Lara is a killer! Is she? Personal battle!) are kinda dumb too, but it didn't upset me too much. Also the Egyptian levels are some of the worst moments in history.

Legend > Anniversary

I would rate the achievements a safe 8.5, they're pretty decent and have you cover all the Tomb Raider bases, but I hope to god Underworld doesn't have fucking Time Trial achievements.

I've already beaten it on PS2, so I know about the general stuff. Just curious on the port and the achievements. I don't like how most of them are no death for an entire section.

Also, what is hard mode like? Combat isn't ever really hard.

Oh yeah, Hard mode isn't even a big deal, the difficulty achievements stack too, so that's where the +.5 came from

With the emphasis on saving for the death achievements, it's no big deal in the first place

Some of the time trials will have you tearing your hair out, I passed some with barely seconds to spare, while some give you a SHITLOAD of time and you're like "wtf?"

I haven't played any other version, but I think the general consensus was that it goes PC > PS2 > X360 > Wii (i added on the Wii part cause its horrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrible)

Truelize, on GAF, was talking to me about Anniversary while he was playing it, and he eventually came to same conclusion as me and preferred Legend as well

he said "tell me all your thoughts on God, because I'd really like to meet him.  Ask him why we're who we are."

TELL ME ALL YOUR THOUGHTS ON GOD 'CAUSE I'M ON MY WAY TO SEE HIM.  SO TELL ME, AM I VERY FAR?  AM I VERY FAR NOW?

I <3 Legend, and I do like it more I think because I like Zip and Alister.

And the wii version....what do you hate about it? It seemed fairly competent to me while playing, though waggling was annoying to accelerate movement and the camera was a bitch.

Waggle seems to make things just generally more annoying.

i only made it up to the large door in the first level and shut it off, i spent enough time on the X360 version

and what is the point of having free control of the guns, when you can lock on to enemies and such anyway?

The motorcycle segments are the only thing "meh" about Legend.  That game was great...definitely over too soon, but a great ride all the way through.

I want to get Anniversary on a console (only have it on PSP and while that is an awesome, awesome port, I think I'd prefer to play this on a console, but I heard that the 360 version had some major frame rate issues and is missing effects that even the PS2 version has.  Is this true?

Sorry, I meant Anniversary.  I ended up with Legend on both 360 and PSP....beat the 360 version and will be replaying it on the PSP at some point.  At 333mhz, a lot of the port's issues are fixed.   :)

If Anniversary comes out in Japan (and it should at some point), I'll just pick up the PS2 version and play it upscaled on the PS3.

EDIT: LOL, it doesn't come out until 3/27.
