Why do people who speak internet ebonics refuse to change?
« on: October 24, 2006, 04:24:53 AM »
I don't get the dignity in "ur," "wut r u" and "wutz ^"... I never have, I never will.

These MORONS claim it's "easier."

Fuck.  That.  Shit.

Why would anyone take solace in knowingly typing like an illiterate dumbass?  What's a few extra keystrokes hurt?  Most of anyone can type over 60 words a minute, and I, myself, can type over 120.

Hardly anyone has integrity -- they don't care if they sound like illiterate pussies.  It's very sad, and it very much proves it's the dumbing down of the world.

EDITED BECAUSE APPARENTLY YOU NEED TO REVIEW THE TOS YOU DUMB MOTHERFUCKER :) It's sad, and these people are too ignorant to know what they sound like.  I'd really love to hurt these people.  I bite my lip every time I see a small word misspelled... or won't being confused with want.  What fucking idiots.

Yeah, sure, I might get the "Who cares?" response, well, FUCK YOU and fuck what you think.  Enjoy sounding like a dumbass in IM or email, I don't care.

That's my rant.  I have no idea why anyone enjoys typing like that.  What do you think about when you're typing like that?  Do you sit there and think, "Oh my fucking God, I'm such a dumbass."?  I fucking hope so.

Oh, and one last thing.  It's come to my attention while playing Final Fantasy XI, being the only one who types properly, I come off as rash and "too serious," even in a normal conversation where my tone, if in person, would be normal and nonchalant.  I even got picked at one point... "Any white mage who takes the time to type properly isn't a white mage I'll invite to my party."  Something of the like... because I wouldn't take the time to heal... well, newsflash: I can do both, and typing is probably the easiest thing a man can do besides pick his nose and masturbate.

I really feel sorry for these people.

I'm so accustomed to at least *trying* to type properly, that it takes me much longer to type in shorthand or slang.

Personally, when I began typing I talked like that.  It was just easier, and didn't take that long to do...plus when your in 6th-8th grade not everyone knows how to properly type ;p.

However, as I got older, and took keyboarding lessions I began typing normally.  The funny thing is, that sometimes I get shit on because of it lol...everyone always says that I'm too serious, and that I use proper punctuation too much.

Plus when I mess with my friends on their computer, they always know it's me because of how I type =\.

I still can't spell for shit though haha.

It actually bothers me too.

I type like that in text messages because it really is easier and saves time, but never on the computer.

Lol, see, you're like in this invisible, imaginary cool club on the internet.  You actually think that amounts to something if you sit around saying clever phrases all day.
