Author Topic: I went from PS360 to PSWii - come join the party! (Read 9291 times)

Thats right - the X360 games got sealed up in an airtight box and shipped away to the family storage warehouse.... the X360 console itself sold....XBL membership - cancelled. If I want to play again its easy enough to buy a new deck and get the games out of storage...for now that shyts on ice. I wasnt even bothering to turn it on now that the PS3 has picked up.

Now with that out of the way - Wii/NDS is back!

I of course started off by re-downloading all of my VC ROMS for free and having a good play session with this gens real NEW best controller - the Wii classic controller. Best controller since the SNES. The Wii VC library has grown since August when I last owned a Wii.

Then I moved on to my first new Wii ware.... REsident Evil Umbrella chronicles....

Holy hell - as a lightclub game veteran, I must say this game is pretty weak. I wont have the Wii zapper attachment till tomorrow or so - but holding the wiimote and sluggishly dragging that cursor around the screen blows....ill still play it because im a fan of the genre and this has me intrigued plus I fookin love RE...but this has nothing on Time Crisis 4 with the Guncon 3.

Next im off to try Mario Galaxy and Metroid Prime 3 for the first time.

Im tempted by Sould Calibur legends, just because I love hack and slash combo games.

I got the new TRauma Center, Twilight Princess and Cooking MAma Cookoff comming in the post from Amazon.

I guess in my life Japaneese consoles FTW.

Same thing happened last gen in my XBOX/PS2/GCN cage match..... The playstation and microsoft console are just tooo similar....except Playstation gets better JP support. Nintendo gives you something different....thats how it works out for me anyway.

Playstation 3 has very little REAL support, and most of its games are in better shape on the other console. It has what, two games, one that probably isnt REALLY exclusive, and one that is yet another fucking Final Fantasy? Who the fuck cares about PS3 as a gaming machine, bring on the blurays.

Nope, not with Wii Sports, Trauma Center: NB, or Super Mario Galaxy. I haven't tried Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn yet.

Edit: I did try F-Zero GX on my Wii earlier tonight though. It was 16:9, but it didn't completely fill up the whole screen.

mario galaxy works fine for me, i haven't tried the ther three games you listed

I do not know how to explain it - I gave both consoles a good solid 12 months and played the best games on both systems.

PS3 just wins the taste test in the end.

Fuck that. I like my PS3 and have been playing it more and more lately but I'll be damned if I got rid of my 360. There's just way too many games on it, tons of people I play with are on XBL, and almost all multiplatform titles seem to perform better on the thing.

Getting rid of the 360 in favor of the PS3 seems like the equivilant of trading in a PS2 for a Gamecube back in '02.

Your opinion matters least - especially after reading your "I started my gaming life on the PSOne" CastleVania comments.

I think some of you spazz out way too much over this stuff. The objective of gaming is to play what you like and enjoy it - it doesnt matter what anyone else thinks - you arent playing the games for the benefit of others or the forum.

Say what you will about my choices - but the lads here who haven't even played the hell out of all three systems this gen who love to just dogpile in on these things for cyber popularity are the saddest of all.

I played the X360 for 12 months in its second better year and I played every top game on the system.

I am sorry to report that most of it - even highlights like "Bioshock" are just meh. The Playstation 3 is the better system - period. And it held up to the X360 in its first and slowest year.

So Metroid Prime 3 is pretty fun.

I have only played with the advanced controls so far - but I hope they really do consider re-releasing prime 1 and 2 with this control option.

At first I was taken back by all the dialog in a metroid game - but once I got further along it felt good playing it.

ok - im sorry if I sent out some rude replies above but some of you got a little way too uppity over what I choose to play in the way of videogames.

I played ALOT of Bioshock and it just never grabbed me.

I think I for sure would have liked the game better if it was more realistic and didnt have the plasmids.

The plasmids alone were a big 'meh' aspect of the game for me....just give me guns and knives and security systems in a city under the sea with raving lunatic gangs.

It's because you can't afford a PS3 and never played one, which is why you are so bitter towards PS3. It's actually a very good console. And yes, I own and played more PS3 games than anyone else here besides abrader.

I'm actually not all that big of a Sony fanboy, I just show it more because I know many of you hate Sony here.
