Metacritic says Alien Shooter = 67%.  If it was a 70% game I might bite, but 67% is below my standards.

i haven't played crusader so i can't comment

shadowgrounds is wasd to move and you shoot with mouse, you can upgrade your weapons and buy perks for your character.  it's basically a top down shooter, but there's enough of the upgrade / char building to keep me hooked like a good dungeon crawler.

the new release is superior to the first by far but i don't think they did a demo for the new game
