I dunno! I am semi-fighting a cold this weekend. I went out to lunch with friends and watched Sweeny Todd, then came home and took a 3-hour nap.

I could go watch a movie? I am also debating if I want to go visit a Buddhist temple tomorrow or not. Would it be exciting and enlightening? Or CULTISH?!

I think I am going to play a little more of Phantom Hourglass. It should help me get to sleep. I have to wake up early tomorrow.

Do you like FLCL? I watched it after seeing it in the top 10 of GAF's anime list, and I thought it was absolute shit. What an painful, incoherent mess of an anime. While the story is different, and no other anime [that I've seen] has tried so hard to break the fourth wall -- it really doesn't mean shit to me as the shows stars some incredibly shallow, underdeveloped, and uncharismatic characters. Behind the gimmicks, the anime doesn't really have a thrilling or exciting storyline.

Just my opinion, I really don't mean to shit up your thread. I just find a hard time seeing what so many people like about it.

FLCL is a really great show. I like a lot of anime tho so whatever.

Heh. Nice, we do have a similar taste in anime. I haven't seen the OVAs of the ones you've listed though, so I can't comment on those.

I might as well mention that I really liked FLCL's soundtrack. Great stuff by The Pillows.

yeah, the box set I own has the soundtrack set to videos as bonus, its neat.

Slayers OVAs werent as good as the three tv series imo. Naga is funny in small doses.

I'm watching Salo again. It's even more gross when you look at the dates at IMDB, and realize that most of the victims in the movie were only 13-15 years old when the movie was made (it looks like most of the ones that have really bad things happen to them are over 16). Nothin' like seeing young teens get humiliated, tortured, and raped for two hours.

Cowboy Bebop is great show and was an important anime because it was probably one of the first to show people that all anime isn't little girls running around in sailor uniforms. I tend to prefer Samurai Champloo because its more lighthearted, but I think Cowboy Bebop has fewer 'miss' episodes than Champloo

I finished watching Luc Besson's Angel-A. It made me fall in love with Paris.

If you want a movie that's It's A Wonderful Life with a 6-foot blonde Danish supermodel as the angel, set in a glorious monochromatic Paris, then Angel-A is the movie for YOU!

Actually, I think I'm wrong "Loved by the Sun" is the one with the female vocals, "Unicorn Theme" is the pure music track without any vocals

I think. Either way, the movie was a total letdown simply for not having it. Childhood memories got dumped on. It's like watching The Goonies without Cyndi Lauper or seeing Freddy kill people with a gun instead of his claws.
