the detail level is higher than the PS2 version. except maybe the gangster costume. I think that was a straight port. the controls are really good and better imo than playing with a pad (I never even liked RE4 with a normal controller though). really, the only benefit you're getting from the game since you have the PS2 version is the new controls. if you can rent it, just do that to see if you like it. the game has a lot of replayability. also, the Wii version lets you play with a GC or classic controller. it was the first time I played RE4 so it was the best version to get but you should definitely return it if you don't like how the wii controls work (GC version was just too hard for me lol). many people say the Wii version is noobified, this is probably true because you don't even need things like a rifle until the pro playthrough.
I would hate for them to add waggle to MP 1 & 2. While the games had a 1 hour learning curve before you weren't stopped sticking your lazorz up your ass, it was awesome since you would have the immersion of an FPS but the platforming and tactics of a (third-person) adventure game. after 2 months, I still haven't opened my copy of MP3 but I'm betting they changed the way the shooting and jumping feel a little so that they fit with the waggle. while MP3 may still be fun (based on the forum praise it's gotten), it'll still probably be designed differently in some of the mechanics because of the wiimote. which means it wouldn't make sense to just put waggle in MP 1 & 2. I should warn you though, MP1 was the game that made me a ninthing.
