Close the fucking border, make it a homeland security issue, severely punish companies that continue to take advantage of illegal immigrants, give illegal immigrants already in the country the chance to become citizens (so they can pay their damn taxes), and finally MAKE IT EASIER TO BECOME AN AMERICAN CITIZEN.

But guess what, none of that will ever happen because politicians are too deeply involved with these companies to ever punish them. And in 30 years...le sigh

I agree, this land should be free for people to come to and realize their dreams.  I also agree that the mexicans coming into america illegally are not taking the jobs that I desire (lawn care, chinese restaurant cook, etc.).  We do need some consistency though with immigration.  Our laws that we have currently need to be enforced.

Children automatically receive citizenship from the country their parents are citizens of. So they would not be without a nation. If I had a child--big hypothetical--and the child for some reason was not born in Canada I would not freak out if the child did not receive citizenship in whatever country he happened to be born in at the time. He would still receive Canadian citizenship.

PD, there's not that many illegals in construction sites.  they don't speak english well, don't have certification, and often can't use tools.  I mean, I'm just going off what my friends' parents who are contractors say but I don't go to construction sites at midnight so my facts might be wrong.

for those that say this is why blue-collar workers are suffering, read "why the rich get richer and the poor, poorer".  we are manufacturing less and importing more.  the reason is that other poorer countries can make everything for us.

I oppose this because you should have the citizenship of the country you're raised in.  I mean, then the kid is guaranteed to be "in the system" and not exploit it like his vile, heathen parents.

Also, we need some sort of balance.  A lot of these people are willing to stay and willing to support our country and that's what matters.  Let them be citizens.  They're honest, hard working people for the most part.

But we need to set up a program to DOCUMENT this.  That's the key. 

I don't care that they're getting in.  I care that we don't know who they are.  I care that so many of them are forced to come here via coyotes and illegal trafficking.
