Question: does anyone else hate it when you're playing a fighting game at home, getting pummelled by a computer opponent, fighting them again and again, steadily improving, and then the floor drops out of the difficulty curve? This happens in several games, but the one that always upset me the most was Capcom vs SNK 2. If you die against an opponent and continue more than a couple of times, the computer automatically defaults them to a sub-1 star difficulty level (where you can literally walk up and throw them repeatedly until they die). I brought this up on a forum once before, a couple years ago, and everyone flamed the hell out of me for saying that it should at least be an option you can turn off. They made the argument that it's part of the game (I see it's role in the coin-op arcade space) and that I should just 'deal with it'.
So, I'm curious as to your opinions: does this frustrate the shit out of you (because you are like me, and realize the only way to improve is to keep fighting the AI at it's full difficulty until you find its weakness), or do you breathe a sigh of relief and move on to the next opponent with a smile on your face (you damn wuss)?
p.s. this would have been a poll but I am teh junier membar :'( one day!
edit: bad spellers of the world, UNTIE!
