If you are willing to reduce the amount of dumb playground waa waa in your posts to a minimum? I want people to stay, but I want them to create and environment that is welcome to nearly everyone.

50/50 approval isnt really legitimizing unless youre the president.

Um, as do I, but Drinky Crow doesn't get any special insult privileges.  If he insults me, he should expect to be insulted back, period.

I respect what MAF is trying to do here; this is clearly an issue of not letting this forum degenerate into a lawless OA demon spawn. Even if you aren't a mod it's pretty easy to see that happening.

In terms of banning him, I disagree. Instead, I think the mods should just start clamping down. I'm not talking about GAF nit picking mod-trickery. But if someone is creating offensive threads or saying things that are clearly out of line, they should be dealt with. So far we've only seen 3-4 bans, which is a testement to the reletive sanity of this place; people act like assholes, but they respect the rules and each other.

If someone cannot see the clear advantages EvilBore has over GAF and OA, instead opting to break rules and start trouble, they should be banned. If the behavior continues, they have no business posting here anymore; most of them will just crawl back to OA anyway, and I certainly don't think their absense will be a loss.

Hrm, a name change. I also want to see some consideration taken when you create topics. Its fine to have a stand on the construction of WTC buildings and the victims wanting to stop it, its not fine to sound like a hate monger while doing so.

PD: I cant clamp down, that inquires increased meddling which is the path that lead GAF MODs to where they are today. I exist to Ban or Not Ban. I expect members to learn to regulate themselves.

Well ultimately I am a mod of the people, an extension of their divine will. As such I must attempt to find compromise since the forum is so split. I cant have 50% of my membership hating one person, and I cant have 50% angry because I get rid of him.

Perhaps we need a mod who's sole job is to make sure shit doesn't go out of control? Willco is an admin so he's got enough stuff to worry about. But November is almost here, and perhaps we can have elections and give someone this position? But, they would have to come to you and/or Willco to get approval to ban people.

Truth is, I've already got several key ToS infractions to toss Catalyst for, but I'm being lenient... for now.  And yes, do I play favorites when enforcing the ToS to a degree?  Of course.  I'd rather lose a guy like Catalyst and be more lenient and try to keep quality posters like Corny.  There is a line, though and at a certain point, if you cross it - it doesn't matter who you are.  You'll get the boot.
