I'm taking it upon myself to watch some mario bava films because i've somehow managed to largely neglect his work (barring those episodes of mst3k). Two days ago I watched Hatchet for the Honeymoon and found it to be an enjoyable black comedy about a psychotic murderer. I suggest everyone see this, esp if you liked American Psycho.

"A woman should only live until her wedding night, love once...and then die."
So far, I'm a half hour into Bay of Blood (the edited version of Twitch of the Death Nerve) and there's been someone who looks like Walter Matthau murder a woman in a wheel chair only to turn around and be stabbed to death by a mysterious black gloved man

a car full of rambunctious "teenagers"

(dance crazed no less)

a naked redhead molested by a dead man

who is then brutally attacked herself

so far it's pretty much a template for every slasher ever, but with more characters who exist in capacity beyond set piece kills.
but there's a large number of those as well (4 so far)...
wait sorry...
6 people now dead.
so all of the teenagers have died. three of them naked and one just for answering the door.
and now in a bizzarre twist we're zooming into their buggy...

which is...

smiling...

zomg. i have figured out who the killer is.
spoiler (click to show/hide)
but seriously, this film is good, has some dark humor and is not a waste of your time.
though you may want to wait because the uncut original version is supposed to be coming out soon as well to r1 dvd (the original looks out of print)
