Kane and Lynch Sells 1 mln

SCi Entertainment and subsidiary Eidos said Thursday that Kane and Lynch: Dead Men has sold over 1 million copies at retail since its mid-November launch. The strong global sales essentially guarantee a sequel to the game, which was developed by the studio behind the top-selling Hitman series.

“We anticipate a positive sales trend to continue through the remainder of FY08 and for Kane and Lynch to firmly establish itself as another key franchise for the Group,” said SCi in a statement.

UK-based SCi added that Kane and Lynch's sales-to-date for the comparable period have exceeded those of 2006’s Hitman Blood Money.

Developed by IO Interactive, Kane and Lynch launched on November 13 in the US and November 23 in Europe.

SCi also said that Pony Friends, launched in May 2007, has sold 600,000 units on the Nintendo DS, life-to-date.

The publisher added that Tomb Raider: Anniversary for Wii, which released during the Christmas period, has “performed well” and has received reorders.

It requires relatively frequent thumb stick clicking, and the controls in general are rather loose. I really, really wanted to like this game because I heard it played a bit like Freedom Fighters. I guess it does feel somewhat like Freedom Fighters with shitty XTREME characters, godawful controls, and lots of shitty cursing.

Anyway Ive played the demo, semmed pretty clunky and B grade but that never stopped me before, the XTREME characters and dialogue were quite fun, and the whole thing was quite over the top. i'll get it if I see it for cheap. Ditto for Stranglehold

Yea, apparently. I'm not sure if I actually got a straight answer...but she did say "offensive" at some point. She also said that it didn't specify why that happened because it's an automatic process. I don't care enough to really pursue it further...although maybe I should sue them like an idiot. I've been using the name online for a bunch of programs/services for years and have never had a problem.

I always feel bad, because I know the person I'm talking to doesn't really have power over the situation. She's looking at a screen that is telling her next to nothing.

Also, before I even called up, I read a Major Nelson blog post and it said how there's really no way to appeal such an action on your gamertag. So I went in with a pretty defeatist attitude, knowing nothing would be done anyhow.

Gaffers, do not represent gaming as whole. I don't know when some of them are going to let go of that illusion. If that was the case Shadow of the Colossus would have been a million seller and the Dreamcast would still be a viable platform.

I played the demo just now.

+ It looked alot better than I expected it to look or thought it looked in stills...
+ the music seemed decent as did the sounds, ambience, etc...

- I didnt get the controls at all
- I didnt really have any fun

I would say its fair to try again when i know how to actually shoot/fight something

The quality seemed higher than what i expected too...
