It's just a 26" Sharp LCD, but it's better than what I had before (nothing!). I thought initially I was getting a Maxent, which had decent reviews, but I've always loved the way Sharp LCDs have looked in stores - comparable to Samsung color quality.

Should arrive by my birthday.

Anything, really. I had a 19" CRT I was using for ghetto high-def on the 360, but it'd letterbox the games, so the screen size was like - what, 14"?

HUGE difference in terms of gaming

If youre 20 inch is using component its an EDTV not an SDTV. If its the red white yellow thats composite

EDTV, I guess. It's hooked up to the PS2 right now. Most stuff - like DVDs - look really purty.

You'll notice a quality increase regardless, 720p > 480i

SD content will probably make you scratch your eyes on a bigger screen

480p is for the wii and i try not to affiliate wii with next-gen or HD

I don't remember ever seeing a 20" EDTV which you'd need to support 480p. 480i is the highest resolution you get on a SDTV. Component cables are just a connection method.

Well, I wanted a better set for gaming and movies, but I won't be getting cable or anything. I might get an antenna eventually for OTA or something. I have been reading recently - but mostly scripts. When I get my HDTV and living room setup, I plan to use my Zune + Xbox to play music so I can relax and read.
