Best thing about COD4 is everything going on the screen, explosions, helicopters, airplanes, tanks...etc...

I'd agree on the names; the trend is stupid. I generally think that a lot of games get better as you ramp up the difficulty-- COD4 is the opposite. Just curious where you were.

I'm generally a Normal gamer. Sometimes easy, if there is a lot to play. My first priority is always finishing games. I buy a lot of shit and I want to ensure that everything gets decent playtime first and foremost.

b. they're perfectly right

the seemingly-infinite respawns pretty much ruin the campaign. it's peerless in its portrayal of battlefield chaos, but 'sprint to the next checkpoint to stop fuckers spawning' is not a great fps mechanic. i played on 'hardened,' and didn't find it unduly hard...but didn't find it unduly fun either

contrary to popular belief, there arent actually that many parts where the enemies keep spawning, generally if you keep blowing away dudes you'll get an all clear from your sqaud, and then you can proceed

I only noticed 2 or so annoying bits where you just had to keep pushing, but that was also indicative of the mission and what the actual game situation was i.e an entire battalion has advanced on you squad you can kill them all get out of there

Instead, tell me more about how awesome Resistance 2 is going to be and why i need a Blu-RayStation. I'm pretty sure that the '2' on the end and them doubling all the numbers for co-op, online and SP mean that it's going to be twice as good but I may have the integer wrong; hype is an area of modern mathematics that often confuses me.

I finished CoD2 on Veteran, it wasn't that hard. I'm not complaining about the difficulty, it's about the single player campaign being pretty weak, especially when you have the awesome multiplayer at your disposal. Why bother with single? Multi is where it's at. I'll try and finish single over the weekend just to see if it picks up after the first hour and a half.

Scans look great and 8 player co-op sounds freakin' awesome.....unfortunately it's Resistance. I just don't like the game. Period. I don't think there was one moment in Resistance: FOM that I actually enjoyed.

Hopefully they'll make some dramatic improvements.

I thought it was kind of generic and safe, but I gave it solid marks because it was a launch game that really didn't have any glaring flaws, and it looked pretty good, and it had pretty smooth multiplayer. A launch title with no major cut corners? That's some points. Hopefully it's shaped up a bit, too, though.

I really want to like it. It has a cool premise and junk. The play in the first one was just kinda really standard.

Yea, I barely ever replay games. I think the last few I did to any extent were Mario 64, OOT (and that was due to the Master Quest disc), and Mario Sunshine. This is not including something like F-Zero GX or Ikaruga, which are pretty much infinitely replayable.

My big complaint with Resistance is that the game feels kind of sterile. Whereas the world of CoD4 feels really alive, and able to be blown apart and manipulated, Resistance has that perfectly still museum feel, for the most part. The glass in the game is fuck awesome, though.

I enjoyed Resistance. It accomplished its task, providing a good launch title, but I've always kind of felt that it would be the sequel that proved whether the game was a viable series, or just a good launch title.

The multiplayer impressed me. They really got that working well, at launch, even.

Resistance's biggest graphical issue was the sterile lighting. It really did everything to reveal the game's kind of middling texture work. Resistance was a geometry beast though, and Resistance 2 looks like it amps it up to 11.
