Some dumb broad on the Golf channel, a channel nobody watches anyway, said that young golfers should "lynch [Tiger] in a back alley" when asked how to overcome Tiger's dominance in the sport.  Scoop doesn't pay much attention to the fact that the dumb broad and Tiger are actually friends, and thinks her two week suspension is not justice enough.  Or something.  Fight the man, Tiger!  Stand up for your people!  Black pride!

The usual suspects would no doubt make this a full-blown race war.  Poor choice in words, but if Tiger isn't even offended and is in fact offering support for his friend, a two-week suspension is more than enough punishment.  I don't understand the point of turning this into a racial issue.  Again, nobody watches the Golf channel.  Like, ten people actually watched her say those words live.

From what I've read and seen it sounds like this was an honest mistake, if anything another poor sports analogy. Sports announcers often use violent comparisons, describing football games as "wars" for instance. While lynching definitely has racial connotations, clearly that wasn't her intent. She knows Woods, and I don't think she meant him harm.

In short, this is another idiotic thing for the Sharptons of the world to jump on, and their blind flock will follow. Lets see some of this anger and energy aimed at black on black violence in inner cities, or the AIDS rate among African Americans

It's not hard to see why some black sports writers would foam at the mouth for an opportunity to attack Tiger Woods, whether they cover golf or not. There's still a lot of bitterness in the community over his refusal to acknowledge his black ancestry, but at the end of the day it's his decision.

This woman's comment is not even in the same category as Fuzzy Zoeller's "corn bread and greens" comment. It was an honest, stupid mistake, nothing more
