I would really like a Chrono Trigger remake for the DS.

They did port CT to PS1 treating it as basically the next installment in their FF port series after FF6, so maybe they'll fit CT into their FF handheld remake series between FF6 and 7.  I'm sure by then (2010-11?) that series will have shifted from DS to either PSP or Nintendo's next handheld, though.

CT holds up really well as is, at least graphically (I love those tile-based sprites myself), I'd rather see a sequel than a 3D remake. CC could stand to have a bit of a remake, at least get it running at over 10 FPS in battle, and smooth out those ugly-ass PS1 polygons.

I mean, they put Tobal and Final Fantasy IV The After and Parasite Eve 3 on cell phones. Why not Chrono Trigger? It doesn't smell like the typical S-E cash grab. I think there's more to it than just this rerelease.

That's actually a really good point. CT is a SNES game that could easily be ported to cell phones. Instead, it's being remade in 2D for the DS.

It's a new RPG done in the style of the 16-bit RPGs of old, which is more than anyone else is doing these days. So, yeah, definitely worth a look.
