
Well, Nikki says she tried unplugging it / plugging it back in and it didn't work. The only other thing I can recall doing is going into computer management, but I don't recall giving it a drive letter there.
But as to the status of the PCs at her campus, it's pretty abysmal.
They don't have a domain set up, and each lab is on its own individual workgroup. On top of that there's one user account on each PC, and it's a restrictions-free administrator account. Needless to say, this leads to problems. People leave their documents on the PC, and usernames and passwords are saved for things like AIM and whatnot.
To tell you the truth, I don't even know if that setup is legal. At the college I work at we're complying with some kind of government regulations whereby we can't have generic user accounts that multiple people can use.
I sort of feel bad for the IT staff at Nikki's school. Sure, they did this shit to themselves with the lack of a domain or any real security, but it's got to be a bitch to go around constantly cleaning up the shit people do with the PCs.
