Well, as predicted a few weeks ago, I totally bent over for Godzilla today. The recently released Godzilla Collection contains all of the remastered re-releases of some of the best classic Godzilla movies. Yes, all of those movies most of us already bought. There's a catch. A few of the movies in this collection...given the same remastering treatment.....

ARE ONLY AVAILABLE IN THIS COLLECTION!@!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So anyway, it hurt a little bit but not much. I mean I can give the movies I already have away..its like getting Orange Box with a Gift Copy... the collection goes for 50-60 bucks, a steal...really...right?

You'd think they coulda made it less obvious by removing the shrinkwrap around each individual feature

and here they all are laid out, omgggggggg I smell a marathon!!!!!!!!!!

fraid not, these appear to be 'the serious' godzilla classics lol. Still kinda worth it I think.

I'll probably pick up it up when DeepDiscount does their next sale. I'm not going to be able to watch it for at least seven months anyway (since it'd be delivered to me in the US). That is one sweet-looking box.

Steiner, sit down. This is gonna be tough on you. But the exclusive films in that boxset are only Time-Exclusive, the single discs come out later this year. April 29th to be exact.

However, you are a very good man for supporting Classic Media and the best dang Giant Monster DVD's ever made. Every one of them is chock full of great content(the commentaries just plain kick ass) and the movies are as crisp as they could ever be. For anybody who's ever had a passing interest in giant monsters fucking shit up, this boxset is the best thing ever, its great.

Ah hell, MAF is Steiner now? I thought he was still that Event Horizon dude, I almost typed in "Wait until MAF gets here." In my original reply.
And while we're still on the topic of totally awesome gigantic monsters, the latest Gamera film has been liscenced for America and will be coming out on DVD later this year. Its less like the dark and gib-friendly Gamera films from the 90's, but its still got a giant fire breathing turtle kicking ass, which is all I need. Trailer over here

On the subject of giant monsters, wasn't there a third Mothra movie? I have the double feature DVD which is some awesome campy bizzare stuff, but if there's a third i'd like to get it. I still prefer hardcore Mothra from Giant Monsters All-Out Attack

Yes there was a trilogy, I don't think the third film was ever released on domestic DVD. I did see it on the Sci-Fi channel, and it was as good as Mothera could possibly be made up to be. They made her look like some insect version of Ultraman, which is of course, pretty awesome.
I don't remember much else though, other then Mothera tearing through King Ghidorah like a wet tissue. And yes, I know that typing that previous sentence is among the geekiest things I've ever done, but dammit, Kaiju flicks RAWK!
