it's been in my pile of shame since the winter rush. but now that i've got some time to hit up my backlog, i decided to to crank out a bunch of missions last night.
graphically, it's truly mindblowing.

the environments in the latter part of the game are surreal. a friend came over last night and thought i was watching some HD channel on my cable box. aside from the amazing graphics, the game really opens up once you learn some of the more advanced techniques. the story is pretty much ass though, but who really plays AC for the story?
i was totally oblivious to the EMS aircrafts that assist you in combat if you're within their range on the map. they increase the effectiveness of your missiles and depending on how many of them are near you, your EMS support level increases. there's also the "allied attack" power meter that gets charged up as you eliminate enemy aircrafts and ground troops. once activated, and depending on how filled your meter is, allies will conduct a blitzkrieg style attack on any targets within range. it's like calling an air strike in COD4. so fucking cool. alternatively, you can use the charged up meter and command an "allied cover" which basically eliminates any asshole who's trying to lock onto you for an attack.
taking cover behind mountains, shooting suckers out of the air with your cock gun and busting crazy 360 degree loops while bombing bitches harder than pearl harbor is fucking exhilarating. can't believe i slept on this game for so long. it would have been one of my top picks of 2007 if i'd spent more time with it.
