Everything looks about right from what I saw sold this holiday season. I will say this about Sony as a manufacturer - although they were the only console manufacturer with any product left in my backroom after Christmas (both the PS2 and PS3 did not sellout), they've been better than Microsoft or Nintendo in replenishing PSP stock. And the PSP has sold gangbusters.
In regards to poor DS software sales, it's pretty simple when you look at the demographic at who is buying it. The answer is on the NPD chart - Brain Age 2. The vast majority of folks are going to buy Brain Age and another non-gamer title a year. Maybe less. The hardcore gamer demographic that buys a DS is relatively small in comparison. Nintendo has really tapped into a new market with both the DS and Wii, but the problem for third-parties is that they're not regular gamers. Piracy really hurts the PSP software sales; I'd say that more than half the folks that buy one freely admit that they're going to hack it. People love the system, though. I'm willing to bet it has a worse tie ratio than the PS3.
