Forget Advance Wars next week - Mazes of Fate DS!
« on: January 18, 2008, 07:34:15 PM »
I just got a call from the PR lady behind Mazes of Fate GBA. Apparently she liked my review a lot, and I was one of the few people to "get" the game. So she wants to send me one (of four) copies of the DS version for review.

Supposed to come out next week.

The fact they are only sending 4 copies can't be a good sign

Well I asked if she had more, cause I was gonna hook Robby up, but that's what she said. Whatever, free games are cool.

How am I even suppose to buy this game? There isn't a single store selling the game and no website even enknowledges the game's existance outside of some Nintendo fanboy sites. Are you sure they aren't just sending you an empty box?

Well I think Amazon carried it, and they also had an eBay store of their own to sell the game. It really wasn't distributed very well. I'll definitely ask her about availability.

Quote
REDWOOD CITY, CA--January 16, 2007 -- Leading video games publisher and developer Signature Devices, Inc. (www.signaturedevices.com ) (Other OTC: SDVI.PK - News) and their wholly owned video game development and publishing subsidiary Graffiti Entertainment, LLC (www.GraffitiEntertainment.com) announced today that they will begin development on  "Mazes of Fate," an Action- Role Playing Game (RPG) for the Nintendo DS. Graffiti Entertainment will ship the fully 3D title February 26, 2008.

“Mazes of Fate is an amazing and timeless piece of work.  Gamers will be very pleased with the way this new version will push the power and versatility of the Nintendo DS,” said Kenneth Hurley, CEO of both Signature Devices and Graffiti Entertainment. “Mazes of Fate is completely 3D, making for an incredibly immersive experience on the Nintendo DS.”

Features that are unique to Mazes of Fate for NINTENDO DS:

Reimagined quests, dungeons, characters, and 4 new player avatars, along with several  "vertical" quests that spread along the complete game, take advantage of the power and versatility of the Nintendo DS.  The main dungeon mode will feature the 3D view on the bottom screen, allowing for direct interaction with elements -using the stylus- (opening doors, pulling levers).  All game screens will accommodate use of the stylus, and the top screen will feature a bigger version of the automap.

Taking full advantage of the power of the Nintendo DS, Mazes of Fate is completely 3D,
with fully integrated three dimensional "free-look" and movement controls. All dungeons, monsters, elements, and items are animated in 3D.  Mazes of Fate pushes the capability of the Nintendo DS, providing a perk for those gamers looking for something special this February.

"Role Playing Games are one of the most exciting and stable genres for video games.  'Mazes of Fate' for Nintendo DS provides players a 'traditional' RPG through fifty different levels. There is no question that this game will provide even the most avid gamers with many hours of intriguing entertainment," said Kenneth Hurley.

Mazes of Fate will ship February 26, 2008, and will feature five languages - English, French, Spanish, German, and Italian, which the player can switch between during game play using the in-game Options menu.

"This version is a beta, almost complete. From here until final we are
working on making the game run faster, smoother, and eliminating any
and all bugs we can find.  Otherwise, the game is complete."
