Wow, what an awesome ride.  I should have played this a lot earlier.

He's playing the PC version (50 incendiary grenades) and he's at the part where you meet the teammate taken hostage and put into terrorist gear and you end up accidentally shooting him.

I think.  Can't see shit.  And who plays through a tactical shooter with cheats on?

Nintenho, that's actually Irena.

The cheats have to be used to take that screenshot!

Here's another one that I like.  Who knew setting terrorists on fire can be so much fun?

Oh that makes sense.  You can't really see the face though.  Have you tried multiplayer?  Do the graphics take a hit like the console versions?

They are about the same.  Playing at 1920x1200, you can clearly tell that the textures probably weren't made with higher than 1080p in mind, because they do get a smidge blurry.  Multiplayer runs like a charm, too.  It's 60fps 95% of the time in SP, and 100% of the time in MP.

It is CoD4 patel.

Mostly 1920x1200 with everything maxed out. There were a couple of weird framerate drops which really shouldn't happen on a 8800GTX SLI setup.  I replayed those parts at 1680x1050 and they were noticeably smoother.  The game definitely could have used more optimization.  The framerate drops in 1/2 when I force 2x anti-aliasing which doesn't even happen with Crysis.

Btw, congrats on finally gaming in 1920x1200!  How are you liking it so far?  Did you upgrade your GPU too?  I'm kinda surprised that 1920x1200 is playable on a 8800GTS.

Oh yeah.  After 10 seconds of in game where it's probably loading in textures, it runs buttery smooth.  I have AA off, but at this resolution that's not really an issue.  I usually like keeping it at 2 or 4, but that is the ONE THING that kills perf, like you said.  During some of the heavier scripted sections, there's usually some momentary chop, but it recovers relatively quickly.  Since I am clearly playing it past intended resolution, I might drop it down a notch for perfect perf.

MP is totally perfect though.

Yeah, everything had a muddy look which worked great for the outdoor environments but not so great for everything else.  I can definitely see what people were talking about in that thread about it just using a modified UE2 engine.

While the game looks very good overall, some parts of it just look oddly outdated.  For example, most of the minor characters had very rough looking models.  Also, the motion blur just seems to make the picture even muddier instead of enhancing the realism.  I played with motion blur on very high but perhaps I should have turned it off.  I'm guessing that most of the problems are due to the game being made for 720P HDTVs with you sitting 10-15 feet away instead of ultrasharp PC monitors.  It definitely would have been nice if they had enhanced the textures for the PC version like other multiplatform games such as Bioshock.

oh so there are spoilers in here :(

It's not COD4 if that's what you're worried about.   Just avoid Nintendho's 1st post if you're worried about spoilers for the game that we're actually talking about.

Wait, was that in the Xbox one? You know, the spoiler part. I know I don't pay any attention to the stories in the majority of my FPS's, but that sounds kind of cool

The game with the best cover and shoot gameplay yet.

Amnintenho was talking about the Xbox version.  I didn't actually shoot the guy but that's pretty cool if the game reacts differently according to how you act.  I need to replay the section to check.

oh no, it doesn't react differently.

The second time I played on realistic and while I accidentally shot him on my first playthrough, the second time the enemy that's you can't get a shot at until you enter the safe because he's in a tunnel to the side shoots him anyways if you don't fire your gun.
