So, after the gold Twin Peaks set came out, I really, really wanted to see the show. I have never seen it.
So, today I go to the library, and BOOM. It's there. The entire fucking gold set. I checked out the first two discs and it made my day.
This wasn't the first time this has happened. Whenever I wanted to get a copy of Videodrome, two weeks later, it shows up in the library. Then I wanted to watch other Cronenburg films. The next week, they got Dead Ringers, Crash, Scanners, and the Fly. I'm still waiting for whoever has the Fly checked out to bring it back.
Same thing with David Lynch. I watched Eraserhead, and after a while, I really wanted to see some of his more "normal films." A few weeks later, the library is stocked with Dune and Blue Velvet. I am just now getting around to watching those. They also have the short films DVD.
It's so bizarre. It's almost as if I just need to think it hard enough, and poof. It appears. Hell, that's what happened with Doctor Who Series Two (2005). I just got done with season one, and not even a week later, they get the second series. It was bizarre.
I'm sorta creeped out, but hey, if I get to continue studying the films I want to, I can't complain too much.
