So I just got my new NDS and have been playing this.

People said it was good - I was skeptical.

ITs >>>wkyd<<<

I thought the two screens would be like a choose your path gimmick. when you grapple to the other path at junctions. ITs actually a 2x tall game that would make a lovely cabinet/coin-op.

I thought the music was a bit weak for standard contra fare...then again iv ben playing shattered soldier/neo contra most recently so easy to outdo.

The history section is funny - they denounce the appalousa titles from the timeline but still reference them and show screens....(ala IGA denouncing CoTM, Castlevania64 and C64 wearwolfie edition)

I suspect that in 2028 Konami will be striking ZoE shovelware from the official timeline.

I kinda wish I could play this with a regular controller - the DS controlpad/buttons do not feel optimal and maybe too small....

yeah thats really my only beef....

Its needs a cabinet and some arcade sticks...and a custom display

the d-pad on the DS phat is actually pretty good for Contra IV... glad I held onto mine and didnt 'upgrade'

Its pink and old and filthy

Contra IV is great, Im still not hardcore enough for it though, the game is tough

the best part is the one liners when your dude comes back to life: 'Take 'em out!', 'Lets party!' etc.
