they sell them here during carnival (fasnacht) season, which is now, and during carnival itself. they are basically a really thin and wavy pastry, like a crepe, that's been deep fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar.
however, you'd think they were sprinkled with crack cocaine by the way you can wolf down an entire box without realizing it.
you just break them into little pieces, like this:
and eat them like potato chips. CHIPS! with sugar on them. it's honestly the best idea ever. so simple, yet so delicious. and they're cheaper than actual chips too!
it's a good thing they don't sell these year round because i wouldn't be able to stop purchasing them.
is there anything like this in the states. i want to spread the knowledge!
