later, time to play some Oblivion. been playing alot of Galactic Civ 2 but i want to finish Oblivion.

Have you finished it?

Will you buy it for the ps3?

for me, if the ps3 version had things the 360 version did not have, i may want to get it. well. not really, not at that price. but if it ever went down in price maybe then.

but anyhow, this is about the game. i'm going to go play it now. i bought alot of DLC for it that i have yet to check out

I dunno dude I played like 100+ hours of Morrowind. I fired up Oblivion and as pretty as it is, I cant do the same song and dance even another 30 hours :(

I loved Oblivion after 5 hours.
After about 15, I hated it, uninstalled it, and will never play it again. God I hate that turd of a game. Once you get past the gloss, the game is actually pretty shallow and repetitive. Also, theres like 200 dungeons in the game, yet like 3 generic dungeon designs. Yuck.

Well the problem with the console version was the 'enemies level up' shit where dirt poor farmers start running at you with daidrec armor or wtf ever its called. I mean come on.

I cant fault it for much else cause all the other problems in the game were things I fell victim to in Morrowind and I didnt bitch much about it then.

I agree with Solo and MAF

People who seem to be praising Oblivion seemed to have never played Morrowind.

The thing about Oblivion is that theres no real differences between dungeons. All of them seem to be there just for quests. Theres no dungeons in the game thats hidden well and has nothing to with some quest down the line. Thats what killed it for me. The game also felt rushed (in terms of how Quests and Dungeons were set up).

Morrowind felt, to me, more thought out. The world itself was more interesting to explore because you could run across some uber armor in some dungeon that you have no business being at a lower level.

In Oblivion it felt like everything you got, in terms of items and equipment, was dependent on what level you were (which is the actual case, the game is made around you finding better stuff as you level). It just felt like an unneeded limiter.

Its a beautiful game but "shallow" seems to explain it nicely.

Morrowind was a horribly broken game, but being on the PC players were able to fix it through mods. For a good number of players it was also an almost complete new experience. I know others came before it, but again, the audience for Morrowind was huge in comparison.

Its like CvsSNK2, a horribly broken unbalanced game with enough new ideas, experiences, and charm to keep up playing with stars in our eyes.

One thing I LOVE about Oblivion though, is how they changed the Thief class type when it comes to game play.

It felt awesome picking a lock to house and sneaking inside. Having a better Lock Picking and Sneak ability allowed you to get into cooler places without people knowing. To bad there was usually nothing good to steal in almost all cases.

The game just felt gimped when it came to trying to become powerful without having to level up or progress through the story.

I remember in Morrowind how you could steal from a chest in a room with like 7 people by approaching them from the opposite position so they turned away from the chest to acknowledge you, then you would crouch and back away from them so they wouldnt track you as you moved to another character to do the same thing, or moved to the chest to pick the lock lol.

I had a lot of fun just breaking into people's houses and robbing them and murdering them.  :D

:lol

I did that for one Quest Objective in some bar. I needed to steal a key from some Dark Elf or something and there were 5 other people in the bar. I did the same thing you explained to have them all turn away so I could pick pocket the dude with they key :p

The game does get broken when you build your Sneak skill up to high levels. I would just put a heavy object on the Ctrl key, go to a corner with one NPC in a room and sneak until I reached high levels easily.

Haha I still remember the quest in Oblivion where some lady wanted me to question her husband in prison, but the guards wouldnt let me talk to him about the crime while they were around so I go back to the lady and she's berating me as she shovels food into her mouth telling me i BETTER find a way to talk to him. Maybe I should commit a crime and get thrown in with him she says. I didnt like her to begin with.

So I got up calmly from my chair, walked to her side, and rammed my fist into her face until the guards showed up and threw me in the jail with the guy I had to talk to. Jokes on her lol

I liked the game a lot more then I thought I would and I completed it as in I got all the achievements but there's obviously some "super herb gathering" missions I could still do.  I liked Oblivion just because there was always a story behind your objective.  Never really cared for the gameplay.

I played Morrowind for a long time. Oblivion has it's flaws, but for me it's still the best game ever.

I'm at level 30 now, abit less then half wasy through the main quest my buddy told me. i'm 100+ into it and it's not getting old for me. i can't play it for hours and hours on end like i did at first, but i still enjoy it. leaving some guilds and things to do for my second character i make.

What mission in the quest?  It's pretty short actually after the first Oblivion gate.
