Alex's Rejection Watch
« on: January 24, 2008, 10:03:01 PM »
So I just sent a soppy letter, under the guise of a fictional story that I end with asking her out.

If you'll recall, I am going to Japan next week, so if I fail miserably and shame my family, I don't have to deal with it for like 12 days.  If all goes well, I will spend tomorrow with her watching Cloverfield, and hitting dinner.

Would you like to watch me get owned / get validated?

I sent it via myspace, so I can check to see if she's read it.

Nothing so far.

-1 for writing a note about your intentions.  That rarely works outside of poorly written and acted romantic comedies.
-2 for not handing it to her personally.  Distance is never your friend for situations like these.

The upside is that you will be posting the outcome, right?  Assuming she responds to your MySpace message.

Synbios' spirit lives on in this forum.

Many things.

For one, it is not too often that a successful but lonely female lawyer meets up with a Hugh Grant looking doctor who nurses sick dolphins back to health in his spare time...but still has enough time to go on weekday afternoon shopping sprees and where they spend their entire weekend embracing each other tight.  Then she gets a promotion across the country and through the latest Top 40 Light Rock track, she reminisces about their time together.  Then as she boards the plane, he runs out and chases her holding flowers while onlookers cheer as he gives up his prestigious profession to go with her.  Then cue another Top 40 Light Rock track and then the credits roll.

OK, so it's a poorly written, acted, directed, produced and, especially, poorly edited romantic comedy.

I've met some successful but lonely female lawyers,  :heart

well, most people I know who did the not asking a person out on a first date directly face-to-face ended up insane and/or in a really bad relationship.  you seem sane though, hopefully you'll be a happy man.

but seriously, if she rejects you (the chances are quite high) don't take it too hard and just learn to ask girls out in person.

First of all, I did not send a "hey, want to go to the dance with me?"  i sent a long ass fictional story, i told in first person and she replied with "why is that the cutest thing i have ever read?!"

Okay. Now you need to take this advice or you'll blow it. Forget myspace and when you see her at school tomorrow or whatever, ask her "Hey you like the story I sent ya last night?" She'll say some drivel about how it was cute or something. You then have about 2 seconds to put your cojoes out there and plainly ask her to that dance or whatever.

Truth. You did the work, now take it to the endzone for a home run! Just ask her out or you'll look weak and spend the rest of your relationship taking shit from her.

@ Ichi, I could but I think she liked it because it made me so vulnerable.  There is no way I'm doing that for my new favorite forum.  Maybe if you promised to read it with an open mind and recall that it worked for me?

Now I just wake up next to beautiful women who I groped up while drunk the previous evening. Wow, is life great.
