This essentially blows a hole right through the Netflix, HBO, MS, Sony, etc. digital download plans. Three or four HD movie downloads and you've hit that 40 GB cap.

It'll be a fairly slow rollout, I think. They know if they implemented this nationwide all at once, the backlash would be so severe they'd have to backpedal. I was never that big a downloader, but this is absolute bullshit. I figure I've got about 6 months to a year, so I'm going to go out and buy myself a couple more large external hard drives, and download everything I can get my hands on until this crap happens. Build up a stock of digital media, and either go to another company, or if there is no other cable internet service in Wilmington, just go to a free dial up service for email and the occasional message board post . Fuck this kind of greed.

everybody on my block was upgraded to fiber optic last week. the speed difference isn't that big but apparently every single thing runs on one wire. they said it takes about 8 hours on average to do one home though.

Fuck Time Warner. My TW bill is going out of control ($110/month). I'm going to ditch them for everything but internet services.
I would ditch them for internet too if not for the fact that DSL sucks in my neighborhood.

Should I move on to Dish or DirectTV ?

Every time I've tried bittorrent it's sucked. There's never anyone seeding anything I want, and it takes like a day to download anything. Newsgroups forever.
