The good word is that James Marsters of Buffy is in the first episode. And he plays his character like GAY SPIKE, and the episdoe apparently opens with him making out with Captain Jack. DICKS A POPPIN. And he has the audacity to do his terrible fake british accent on the BBC.

I watched most of the first episode before getting distracted by Elephant Six videos, but Torchwood in general seems much better than season one. As in it doesn't quite seem like a kiddie show that happens to feature cursing and fucking. It feels a bit more like the material it was originally aiming to rip off.

My mom loves Torchwood, and now that they've added James Marsters she really loves it, even if it was for only one episode. She was blabbing about it at her birthday dinner last night.

My mom's a 53 year old Spike fangirl.

Did you see the episode? It was REALLY gay, even for Torchwood. And when I say gay, I mean gay, not bad or shitty. It was like watching a terrible fanfic.

If you were ever a Buffy fan, you should at least check out the Spike episode. It's the first episode of this season, so there's not a lot of background or anything. He basically plays his character like a gay version of Spike. I think that's really all James Marsters can do. He's also dressed ridiculously. He has like cowboy pants and boots on, the shirt and jacket of a 18th-19th century French soldier, two modern/scifi-y pistols, and a katana.

I'm a big Buffyverse fan, so I'll check it out if I have a chance. I'm sure BBC America will reshow it a million times this week.

I think MAF said it best when he said it sounded like I was describing the dialogue in Uncharted at the beginning with Sully. Like EVERY LINE between captain jack and James Marsters is twisted into crude homosexual innuendo.

Yeah, the episode was pretty heavy on the homo.

Not a great episode overall, but looks like there's some decent stuff coming up.

Can't wait until someone Stage6's the second episode. The torrent is up but I'm unable to download torrents on campus.

The second episode is better than the first, but I think I might prefer the first because of the sheer ridiculousness of gay Spike making out with Captain Jack.

Yep, that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

I don't know, even in Doctor Who, he flirts with both sexes equally and he manages to pull it off. John Barrowman is pretty damn good in that aspect.
