Im playing through CoD2 on Veteran at the moment, hopefully It doesnt have a bit as tough as that

I got up to the War Room on Veteran and then had to put it down for a bit. There are apparently NO checkpoints for that whole countdown sequence.

I'm on Ultimatum now, I plowed through 3/4 the game in a couple days so far.

I think COD2 is definitely the hardest so far. 4 is easier, but has some choke points. 3 was just cake, with just a teeny bit choke points.

But all CODs run on checkpoints so you just have to pop smoke / flash and make a break for a safe spot and hope your team follows suit, or a checkpoint appears.

4 is easily the worst thanks to its emphasis on distinguished mentally-challenged time limits. I could list off all levels that have a dumbass time limit and I'd hit at least half of the game. Mile High Club should have just been a time limit on running to the bathroom cause you gotta take a runny shit.

Although I stopped playing 3 halfway and never got back to it. 2 was PROPER hard. Hill 400 on Vet was like having my balls crushed in a vice. I'm sure I can get through the end of 4, given the right circumstances (my wife can't be in the room when I play something hard due to the murderous noises i make)...i've already done it on Hardened and it really isn't much different on the whole. The lack of check points on the Control Room level was the first difference i really noticed.

ahhhhh....that explains it. Thinking there were no checkpoints of course only made me more cautious and more determined to take out every enemy before proceeding...no wonder i was getting stuck on it. Thanks!

I try to rush past enemies after flashing, but I click the joystick and nothing happens. I dunno if its my controller or what. Knifing works for shit, because sometimes you get those clean slices, sometimes it kind of "jams" and you're like WTF HURRY, and sometimes the enemy will shoot while falling and kill you (yes it has happened on several occasions).

I just picked up the mossberg off the first dude you shoot after you knife the toilet guy, blasted my way through the 2nd floor with that, you dont have worry about trivial things like 'aiming' with that bad-boy

Here's what I did-

* Ran up and shanked the guy in the closet
* pulled out UMP since its reload is quick and usually takes people out
* Took left hall, capped dude on the end, lobbed a flash just as the guys start coming out so it stuns them
* Cap these guys, try to get into the next room (this is usually where I would die a lot because my idiot teammates cant shoot for shit)
* In next room, wait until wall is ripped out, then lob a flash, work my way up capping people (this is death point #2 because of the shitty AI)
* Up the stairs, lob a flash on one end, then go down the other end, capping and hoping for the best (death point #3)
* Snag the flashbangs, lob one, and just book it (or walk, because sometimes my shit wouldnt trigger), capping people and praying at this point (death point #4)
* If you can reach the hostage, it's all cool, just wait until near the end of the countdown, the guy reveals his head wide open and one (or two) caps is all it takes
* Scream racial slurs and fucks and just hoot and holler because your TV and controller are still in one piece

I really didn't find War Room that tough compared to some of the other missions. I sucked at other ones much worse.

Your teammates are HORRIBLE in this level, it's basically you and you alone. Sometimes they help in the room where the wall is ripped out, and the staircase above, but other than that they shoot and help for SHIT.

It was such a good feeling doing the Mile High Club, I yelled a bit and did a bit of fist pumping, then I admired my 1000/1000 for a bit, then I had a beer and a smoke. It was awesome
