If enough people have not seen them, I might be willing to start a BLACKADDER WATCHING CLUB.

I have the DVD's laying around, but for some reason I didn't watch the WW1 series.

Well actually I did, but when it aired (BBC OG!), which was a ways back now.

I've only seen one series. The first one.

If I were going to do it, I would start with the second series, since the first is a love it or hate it thing.

first one was poor - second series only came into existance due to a radical change of set/production and a new writter.

I dunno.  I like the first series.  I'm just glad it wasn't the first one I saw, or I might have skipped the rest.  It was neat to watch in order to know what the roots of the show were, because the whole time I was first going through the series, I kept hearing "don't watch series 1" which naturally made me WANT to see it.  And I thought it was strange and different and entertaining in a different way.

What period is the second one in?

The one set in WWI sounds interesting. Is that 4?

That has my favorite variation on Baldrick's catchphrase.

Blackadder: "Baldrick, am I jumping the gun, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?"

Baldrick: "They certainly are!"

The Medieval and WWI Blackadder is all kinds of awesome.  Some of the funniest television ever.  The first season is basically unwatchable imo and I'm really kind of indifferent to the Regency period.

But we need to discuss the biggest tragedy in the history of Blackadder - AltogetherAndrews using Lord Flashheart as his avatar.  That just ain't right.

AltogetherAndrews ruined Rik Mayall for me :(  And Rick was my favorite of the Young Ones, too.

It had been a while since I watched the show.  I popped it in last night, series 2.  I really forgot how good it is with clever historical references and the like.  I like when Blackadder shoots Baldrick in the dick with an arrow, and Baldrick goes on about how he will wear the scar as a mark of pride and show it to his grandchildren.

No, I haven't.  Worth checking out?  I've heard of it, but not in the context of YOU MUST WATCH THIS SHOW, but at this point I just need more British comedy, even if it's not triple A.

I managed to watch damn near all of black adder this weekend with the girl friend.

i hadn't seen it in so long it was absolutely stunning.

i didn't make the connection with hugh laurie and house until the fourth season.  i don't watch house, so this is my main point of defense.  i absolutely can see why he was chosen to be Bertram Wooster.  He does that damn near perfectly.

i think i love this show so much because it's just so absolutely mean like the best of british comdies

i like how they got a couple hundred british folks in some stadium, fearful that the hordes of pedophiles had them surrounded and were coming like zombies to claim their children :lol

also the bit on how the pedophiles use hypnosis over the internet to seduce kids and make them their sex slaves :lol
