What was the best thing Monty Python ever did?

John Cleese points out that The Holy Grail is esteemed in America, whereas Life of Brian is esteemed in England.  This got me to thinking about what Monty Python's one major contribution to the future has been.

Me?  I have to side with Life of Brian.  I grew up in a catholic household, and while I don't want to give the flick too much credit, it definitely was a reinforcing factor when coming to recognize religion of all stripes as nonsense.  In that way, what is on the surface a comedy or a farce becomes an actually important movie.  Arguably more important than the most shocking of documentaries.  And I am pretty positive I am not alone on that point.

I took the TV series, because it still stands up well.  For all the ballyhooed anarchy most of the best skits had a very good structure underneath, which helps keep the material funny after the shock of the absurd has worn off.

Terry Gilliam did a lot of good stuff.

I picked him, mainly because most of the movies he has done I've liked. Jobberwocky was great imo. It was... different.
