Personally I loved the Adventure series games, and everything there after was completely shit; Shadow, Heroes, Rush yuck.

adventure 1 and 2's sonic levels were fun, at the time. Everything since sucked. The Sonic demo on 360 made me cry.

I recently played Shadow (the one with the gun) in multiplayer at a cousin's house. I have never played anything remotely near that horrible.

Fixed. Although the Dreamcast ones were pretty fun too. Everything else sucks though, and the 360/PS3 one is going to blow

Sonic 1 = first game I ever owned. Classic.
Sonic 2 = even bettah
Sonic 3 = it's good but nothing on Sonic 1 or 2
Sonic and Knuckles = OMG but not on part with 2
Sonic cd = Haven't played
Sonic 3d Blast = JESUS FUCK GET IT AWAY FROM ME
Sonic Adventure = adverage fluff
Sonic Adventure 2 = average fluff 1.5
Sonic Heroes = SHIT
Shadow the Hedgehog = DEFILEMENT OF MY CHILDHOOD.
Sonic the Hedgehog 360/ps3 = DEFILEMENT OF MY CHILDHOOD PART 2
Sonic Wii = omg I need this!

I'm a huge Sonic fan, although I will agree that a lot of the newer games are extremely frustrating/bad/annoying.

In the Genesis days, Sonic was right there with Mario. I loved all four of the main Sonic games. I liked Sonic Adventure, but the exploring parts were garbage. SA2 was a step up with the Sonic and Shadow levels, but the rest of it sucked. I haven't bothered with the series since.

Sonic Adventure one and two are some of my personal favs of Sonic. I liked the gameplay and it wasn't that frustrating once you got use to it. I use to despise Eggman/Tails levels, but they are quite fun when you get the curve down.

Cajole didn't the "adventure fields" in Sonic Adventure one take like 5 minutes between boards tops?

I agree with Himuro that Shadow sucked ass hard, however the Wii game looks like shit, pure shit.

The adventure shit was still pointless. But I think as a whole, I enjoyed the first more than the second because the levels other than Sonic/Shadow's in SA2 were annoying. 2D Sonic was the best by far.

Agreed. 2D GENESIS games > 3D.

I wish they sorta set SA2 up like SA1 where you could CHOOSE who you wanted to be on your own terms instead of forcing the gameplay on you.

I haven't bought it... even though I am a completist when it comes to collecting game series, I'm not sure I can consider it a true sonic game!

But I've loved Sonic since I was little.

Me and Sonic! I got that plush when I was like 7 years old.

Don't you dare buy Shadow, that is like the worst game not just in Sonic history but ever...it also totally drug Shadow from how I precieved him in SA2 in the mud.

Yeah, I had no problem with Shadow in SA2, he was a pretty cool rival and his levels are fun. But I kind of wished he'd fucked off for good at the end of the game. Why he became a recurring character I'll never know... and then when they decided to give him weapons and vehicles, no just no.

Yeah I thought it was pretty cool how he fufilled his promise at the end...it was a pretty decent story come to think about it. Both Sonic Adventure had decent storys, but your right Shadow should have fucked off...

Great music and character design in the Genesis games. The gameplay doesn't really compare with Mario's best, though.

The Sonic series peaked at Sonic CD I think. Sonic CD was awesome.
