it took two filler episodes to finally get to the good episode, thats not good pacing in a shortened season!
Which filler episodes?
If you are referring to the ones with Kate and Desmond:

Not really filler. For one, Aaron with Kate was a HUGE HUGE HUGE bomba. Second, the Desmond episode which ends with Faraday writing down that Desmond is his Constant means that we aren't done with the temporal fuck-ups. Even if they were filler, they were some of the best filler I've ever seen on television. Especially Desmond's episode.
Yes, really filler. So what if Aaron was a bomba? It was a bomba the LAST TWO MINUTES of the episode. The rest was filler filler.
The Desmond episode was just total filler, yay conscious time travel. So what? That won't get answered till like Season 6 now, and only makes things more confusing.
The Michael episode was a great ep because a) introduction of Mr. Kevin Johnson (though this was pretty known) and b) complete mindfuck of the flashback with Jin, since everyone thought he was the sixth survivor... though that is still up in the air
Well, yeah, got to give you that one, the Michael episode was the best fucking one. You could just see the staff of Lost laughing at the audience. No one saw that shit coming. I sure didn't, although I heard in advance someone was going to be confirmed dead.
Seriously, I thought I read a spoiler about the Oceanic 6 that clashed with that episode. Damn.
This next episode won't be a big deal until the end. We will figure out exactly what Kevin Johnson is doing.
But I will defend the Desmond episode. It may have been filler, but it was good Desmond character stuff, and as far as his backstory goes, a possible explanation for why he ran from the army.
