I can't imagine ever abandoning Cooke permanently because she's too awesome, even if she does weaken the team compared to using five immortals.

I'd leave Mack in the gutter in a heartbeat though.

Agreed - as I said before I love Cooke's healing. Mack really only adds Spirit Magic which can be taught to someone else if needed, and the black magic seems to make up for it.

Jansen+Cooke will be permanent members of my group, Ming will be my rotation spot.

I wouldnt worry too much about formations anyway. As previously mentioned lower level characters level up really fast and the game never gets too difficult. I just used the guys I liked the look of mainly

yeah that is generally a good idea in LO. Comes in handy having plently of skills for re-tooling against bosses etc.

jesus I would totally pay for dlc which points out what goddamn thing Im missing for Treasure Trove

Im trying to forget the pain of that achievement by playing Blue Dragon. Im having a fucking blast TBH. Such a fantastic game. I cant remember why I wasnt so floored when I tried going through the 1st time (got sidetracked by gears or something and stopped playing). Got my achievement giude at the ready so I hopefuly wont miss any items or anything.

If youre digging Lost Odyssey - play Blue Dragon. Most game shops here in NZ are giving it away so you should be able to get it for cheap (Ive seen it for like $40 NZ)

And I though Jensen was one of the most annoying characters ever when he was introduced. But he became pretty funny afterwards.

I can't wait for LO2. Just hope that the dreams are cutscenes this time. I didn't like all that stupid reading. SNOOOORE
And the battles must start faster. I really takes too much time before a battle begins. Grinding sucks that way.

I don't care if LO2 comes with 11 DVD disc, those dreams need a better presentation imo.
I was really interested in those dreams, but it was so tedious to read them that way IMO

Nah, I thought it was awesome. They did a lot with the backgrounds and the way the text was displayed to give it personality and keeping it from being a stark reading.

Unless they get Sean Connery to read it..

The text was way too slow, I always had to push the A button to show the whole text. Resulting into out of sync backround noises. That sucked.

The backgound images were too repetetive. The music was nice though.

LO OST is amazing. Uematsu

Blue Dragon OST sucked though.

I find the dream sequences tedious too. I think it's the writing more than anything - the stories are enjoyable but they're about twice as long as they need to be and are filled with fluff.

I have to hit A to display the text quickly and I often skip paragraphs of text. I agree the backgrounds are much too slow and repetitive to add interest.

It's the only thing I'm not crazy about in the game. Everything else is awesome.

I skipped a bunch of dreams at the start because they seemed boring, but now I regret it and have been reading them. The stories and they way they are told is fucking fantastic, I wish more games did things like this to flesh out their main characters.

I loved reading them. If there's a complaint I have is that too many of them are predictable, but there are still a good number of them that go a different way than you expect.

I don't know what they'll do for the next game, they can't do 30 stories with this same theme of loss can they?

I like that some of them are predictable, because it makes sense that way. The same way they're doled out in small chunks to gradually give you more insight into Kaim and Seth.

You actually learn what exactly is going on in the story, you get new and extremely useful characters, hilarious Sed moment, dungeons aren't necessarily easy, but they aren't extremely annoying to get through like that fucking dark cave (stopped playing the game for a while after this), and lots of pretty FMVs. AND you get a ship again.

The ice dungeon was short and simple. You trudged through a snowstorm for a few minutes with Cooke and Mack, not for half the disc.

Dude you go back and forth into the ice zone over and over again, switching between that and the sewer dungeon. You're halfway through the disc by the time you recover Kaim and get a move on.

And I'm talkin about MEGA EVIL DUUUDE with MEGA EVILL WORLD DESTRUCTIONNN. I liked it better when he seemed to be toying with the other immortals for his own personal gain, not so much when it was world domination and mega mirrors. I guess it was always going to wind up like that anyway but the little touches of character seemed to fade to the background.

The train tracks right? You walk through it TWICE with Cooke & Mack with no battles. Then you walk through it ONCE with Ming and Jansen with battles and fight a boss once you find Cooke and Mack. You find Sarah and Kaim at the end of the disc and then switch to disc 4.

You're right, that dungeon spans the whole disc instead of half of it.

I LIKED the Black Cave because it DIDN'T do anything objectionable and I DIDN'T fall through the holes AND it PRESENTED different environment than the OTHER dungeons of the DISC.
