It screened at a few film festivals in 2005 and 2006, but it wasn't actually theatrically released in North America until December 2007. It's just now coming out on DVD.

Probably because it was low-budget crap and everyone just wanted to forget that it existed until they had a gap in the release schedule and some guy was like "Hey, what about that movie were Ted Danson and Jeff Bridges make a porno?"
