Okay, I'm off the Anime wagon for now, let's get back to golden age American animation. Last month I was all into Fleischer Studios with Popeye, Superman, and Betty Boop. This month I'm all about Warner Bros. And I think I just found my new favorite cartoon short. This short is like a Salvador Dali crack-dream, I love it. It's deliriously unhinged, and despite being B&W the animation is still fantastic.

Porky in Wackyland, Dir. Bob Clampett, 1938

And while we're talk about Porky Pig, below is one my favorite shorts from when I was a little kid. I had the chance to rewatch it again, I loved it as much now as I did then. Plus OMG TWIST ENDING!

Porky Pig's Feat, Dir. Frank Tashlin, 1943

Another strong contender for BEST CARTOON EVER:

Duck Amuck, Dir. Chuck Jones, 1953

More awesome Daffy Duck, also from 1953. That must have been a pretty kick-ass year for WB.

Duck Dodgers, Dir. Chuck Jones, 1953

(BTW, the new Duck Dodgers series was pretty awesome itself, and CN sucks for canceling it)

And let's get a little Tex Avery love in here too. He didn't really hit his peak until he moved on to MGM and did Droopy, Red Hot Riding Hood, and King-Sized Canary, but still here's no one can deny the greatness of his WB short I Love to Singa. It's so infectious, it's impossible to not like.

And of course no discussion of the best WB cartoons ever can be complete without:

One Froggy Evening, Dir. Chuck Jones, 1955

(With bonus Italian translation for some reason!)

What's Opera, Doc?, Dir. Chuck Jones, 1957

Warner Brothers had a lot of great talent, but Chuck Jones was just operating on a whole other level. :bow

Old cartoons FTW
