trailer description

"OMG OMG OMG I saw it!!

It starts out with the Lucasfilm and Paramount logos, and then shots of all three Indy films in order with the taglines mentioned in other reports, "He saved the cradle of civilization, he triumphed over the armies of evil, and on May 22 he's back" A kind of etheral music is playing.

The music then stops and it shows Indy throw on the ground by Russian soldiers, his hat falls on the ground. A shot of his hat on the ground, he picks it up, and then the sun silouettes Indy on the side of a car.

The Raiders march begins to play

Then a shot of Mac and Indy surrounded by Russians:

Mac: This aint gonna be easy
Indy: Not as easy as it used to be

Then it cuts to a ton of action shots inside the warehouse from Raiders, and I mean a ton, there's trucks driving through it, machine gun fire, Spalko on top of crates yelling at her soldiers, and Indy fighting back. It has the coolest shot ever, this high crain shot of Indy being fired at, and he takes his whip and latches onto a hanging light and swings over all the fighting and crates with the camera following behind him. Cut to another shot of him swinging towards an oncoming Russian truck and he lands right through the windshield shattering it and say "Damn, I thought that was closer"

Then cut to a shot of the Russians approaching a crate that blows up with gold light and power exploding from it. ()

Then it switches to a bunch of shots in South America. Some of Mutt, and Indy, a lot of ancient warriors (Not skelletons, but real living people) chasing after Indy and Mutt. There's shots of a vehicle chanse on the side of south american mountain with Spalko and Indy, shots of giant south american waterfalls. It shows shots of the these pyramids, and the columns are moving in them like a mechanical booby trap.

Shia asks Indy something like, "I thought you were a teacher?" Indy, perched above him says, "Part time."

Then it cuts to to the title sequence "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" while the Raiders March plays.

Indy's back!

[As a side note, the film looks like a cross between Slocombe and Kaminski]"

Yeah, the title is a strong indication of just how much this flick will most likely blow.

I remember hearing rumors that it was going to about the spear used on Jesus. Now that would've been far more awesome than a crystal skull.

I've played J-RPGs on the PS2 with a better plot than that....

(disclaimer: I'm a firm believer that most all J-RPGS on the PS2 blow donkey balls... most)

I absolutely loathe the 3D font they used for the dates and text - it's something out of a Lucas flick and it feels totally out of place. The teaser doesn't really excite me, but it doesn't necessarily look like a trainwreck. From a cinematography level, it does look like an Indy film. A lot of the stunts showcased look a bit much even for young Indy, but we'll see how they play out in theatres.

The more I see the teaser, the more I dislike it. I don't like the comedic timing, as noted, something seems "off" and forced, but I'm willing to give Ford the benefit of the doubt on that when it comes to the finished product. It does a mediocre job of getting us excited for this adventure and Lucas is doing the same thing he did to folks when The Phantom Menace rolled around - used nostalgia from memorable score cues and previous film footage to get folks frothing for what turned out to be a nightmare.

This was the same tactic Bryan Singer used for Superman Returns. Internet film geeks get their panties in a bunch when you play a memorable score cue from their formative years over anything. I am pretty sure Lucas could've shot two minutes of him taking a shit and played the Raiders march over it, and Fandango would still get a bunch of pre-ordered tickets.

I don't even like the way the teaser is cut, how it just loops the Raiders march at the logo reveal. Comes off kind of hokey. It doesn't scream trainwreck to me anymore and I don't really have a problem with the visual effects that some people have had (King Kong? Please!). I'm no fan of Lucas anymore, but even the prequel trailers were cut in a way that usually made me excited (only to be disappointed and skull fucked). Can't really say that for this one. And I like Indy more than Star Wars.

Lucas was only on set for 9 days or something, so Senor Spiebergo could have minimized his shitting. Also, don't forget that Lucas tried to get Spielberg to shoot it digital, but Spielberg said NO. I am sure Lucas knows his place in regards to Spielberg.
