friend is letting me borrow his for tonight since he couldn't take it home last night. I'll try to play all night caus I am cheap.  the games I'm playing are COD4, orange box, and Assassin's creed.  I've finished AC but I only played split screen of COD4.  so far I'm oddly loving the first person controls in OB and COD4 even though I hate the PS controller.  if anybody wants, I'll play COD4 but not TF2, way too fucking laggy.  probably a server issue.  COD4 is perfect as far I can see anyways.

btw, the OB lag/loading was pretty overhyped from what I can see.

fuck that.  I'm not hyped for the exclusive games too much.  well not enough to download demos right now.  and I'm not interested in HD movies much at all.  so far, these games actually work all right on PS3.  And what I've played of COD4 online was completely lag free.  I'm just going to try and knock out Portal (I'm around room 15) and COD4 before I give it back.

ftr, I connected the PS3 online wirelessly and found no router problems although other people said they did.

You should checkout some of the PSN games.  For example, Pixel Junk Monsters is quite interesting and worth a bit of play time.  I've known a few people who have gotten quite hooked.

If you have the playstation eye, and I'm sure you don't but you should, there are number of PSN games worth looking at and most of them cheap.

Of course, you are borrowing this from someone so I'm confident all these suggestions are useless.

I know that smoothe you homo.  The guy just has multi-platform games (he got it for bluray mostly) so I'm catching up on stuff I haven't played.

btw, COD4 was awesome.  I only finished it on normal so I probably wouldn't see a fraction of the frustration the rest of you saw.

the demos I tried were uncharted and R&C.  I'm going to go DL resistence.  I didn't like uncharted really.  the graphics were nice but it really feels like a tech demo.  Like they just took the transitional animation engine and pasted it into a random platforming level.  I constantly think about how much more fun tomb raider was (which is sort of in the same category of platforming).  This was also the first time I ever tried an R&C game but I don't think it's my sort of game.  The shooting and jumping just got stale for me.  especially after playing something like..mario galaxy.  bad comparison since R&C is shooter-centric but it's also boring in that regard.  I might also try the Ninja gaiden demo but I already played that.

I'll try the PSN games if they have demos.

Uncharted really grows on you, or at least it did for me.  The game is really more about shooting than it is about platforming and once you get your head around that it becomes a lot of fun....that's until you hit the twist near the end.  Bullshit on all of that.   Otherwise, I love me some Uncharted and the graphics really pop through HDMI - the customs house area in particular is fucking amazing to look at.

Resistance and Ratchet & Clank are shit imo.  Boring same ol' same ol'.  I liked Sigma even though that was familiar territory as well. 

BTW, stay far, far away from that damn skydiving game on PSN.  Holy zombie jesus....awful.  This is why we need demos for every damn game on PSN.  I don't give a shit if it's only 5 bucks.  That's 5 dollars I want right back.

I don't know, I just didn't like the way the weapons felt in UC.  the AK was useless and the shotgun was way overpowered.  and the ragdolls were also really weird like how when you take out the last bit of an enemy's life by shooting him in the shoulder, he does a somersault onto his back...weird.

I also DL'd heavenly sword, is it worth installing?

No.  It's a terrible game and the demo is not worth your time.  I can't believe that game got a 9 by one reviewer in egm.

I think it just takes a little adjusting to.  I was initially turned off by the Uncharted demo 'cause it felt like Drake wasn't really interacting with the environment....sorta like the character was running some animation routine over a separate background.....but I got the game anyway and it eventually just clicked with me somewhere around the fortress area.  I actually kind of like the exaggerated rag doll physics and locational damage - especially so when you turn on slow mo.  Headshots feel soo good. :p   And honestly the main character doesn't feel removed from the background anymore.  It's weird how it just seems to make sense now.  It's like how your eyes adjust when you enter a dark room.

I thought Heavenly Sword was pretty crap, but I did like Kai or whatever her name was.  The Bjork-like cat girl.  Awesome character.

PS3 controller is TERRIBLE for FPS. Do try some PS3 demos, though. The Heavenly Sword and Uncharted demos are quite good.

I think I will try finishing through HL2 and the episodes since I never played it before.  I'm already pretty far in ravenholm.

I honestly did not have any problem playing COD4 with it but it does feel floaty some times in HL2 shooting in the airboat (although the super auto-aim helps).
