Between work, etc, listening to music and "I wanna buy a new car" fever I just cant seem to get any gametime in.

I work all the week on aircraft maintenance, I browse eb from there, and I don't have much time for gaming.

and even If I had the time to play games, I always finish these games in 1 setting.

I hate when I haven't played a game in a few weeks and then I forget what I was doing when I go back.  This has killed many RPGs for me in the past. 

It does suck when you have no idea where you are in a game, or if a game is challenging and you're just totally out of practice with the controls and can't progress. I try to stick with 1 or 2 games at a time now, and I keep them on different platforms so I can actually pay attention to them and get my money's worth.

i've got school, so I only usually play maybe 2-3 hours on the rare weekends I go home.

=/ my copy of dmc4 is just sitting here doing nothing.

i just hate when my backlog is out of control.  i'm usually able to finish my games within 1-2 weeks but that hasn't been the case this year.   i'm surprised i've bought so many games in the jan-feb timeframe. i don't remember the last time the year was so front loaded.  the 360 has been kicking my ass lately. =[

it's gonna get worse when my little one is born in a week or two.  practically saying goodbye to my gaming life as i know it.  :'(

like I didnt even bother posting in last weekend gaming thread because its still the same disks in the same machines that havent been powered on.......

My Wii has been off so long the light has gone from gold to red for whatever reason.

What is it about work that gets ones mind in such a state where games just cant be played?

Rman - didn't you make a thread about this a while back? About only gaming on the weekend?

Every day I tell my friends how im going to play a bunch of 360 games in my queue, but every night that doesnt happen as I end up playing WoW. :(

Yeah when im into my one and only MMORPG nothing else gets played.

To balance that out - I cant play an MMORPG when I have a girlfriend....you just cant end up doing those 2-3 day binge sessions where you shower, but dont leave the house for anything.....

so im pretty MMORPG free right now.

I am glad there isnt one on the horizon that appeals to me either.

I used to be like you. I think posting at GAF got me more interested in TEH RELEASE DATE, so I'd buy a game i knew I would like on day 1 even though I'd already done the same thing with another game 2 or 3 weeks earlier. So one or both would wind up half-finished.

The last 4-5 months or so though, I've finished every single game I've bought, except Mass Effect (which I really haven't started, I got it as a gift anyway).

To anyone who can't get a grip on their list of shit to do, try www.backloggery.com. Beating games is like getting Achievements. I put all my current-gen shit up on there a month or so ago, I've beaten a number of backlog games in that time (as oppose to only beating new games last fall).

Well it is wasted cash except its not a perishable so you can always sell it (at what you paid if you dont break the wrap) and sometimes even profit. Right now I could liquidate my games etc for about $10,000 if I wanted to rush and get $14,000 - $16,000 if I took the time to do it right.

I plan to retire within the next 24 months. Maybe I can catch up then. I do intend to beat everything I have purchased and kept - sometime.

It's faster than it looks, you don't have to search for box art or whatever, you just punch your game in manually and that's all that's listed. Abbreviations too if you want.

Or just do it in batches of the 5 you wanna do most, and don't add to the list until you beat those 5.

It only took me like half an hour to add all my current gen games iirc

I just started working full time this week and already I can see the time I spend gaming dwindling. I get home at like 7:30ish, make and eat dinner and its already like 8, 8:30. Gotta spend time with the GF each night, so yeah. I've played maybe 2 hours of DMC4 and CoD4 combined this week.

So why is it I cant get in the mood to play games till like 4-5 hours after I last thought about work - but I can sit for hours and sod off on message-boards.....

Forums are more like chit chatter - to me it contributes to winding down from work.

Im bad too, the only console where I actively mangage my backlog is my DS, I ve played all the title on that system as much as I want to.... Ive only had a 360 for 3-4 months, and I already have like 15 games for it

Same here for DS.

Only game that I've started and not beaten is Revenant Wings which I've only had a month or two. Still have M&L2 and FM1 waiting to be started someday.

Oh, and I stalled out after the 6th gym in PKMN but I don't care.
