The GameCube was a graphical beast.

I mean look at RE4 and Smash Brothers.  You're basically playing a Disney cartoon when you boot up Wind Waker.

Smash Brothers is 60 FPS, bitches.

RE4 is clearly runs better than anything on the current pc market (circa 2005)

Wow.  Nintendo hardware is incredible  :o

Probably the best piece of hardware Nintendo ever assembled.  Exclusive and first-party efforts typically looked better than anything out, the PQ was always excellent, load times were non-existance compared to competitors, etc.

It suffered from dumb design choices for the actual console - it launched with a purple color and never lived down the fucking handle.  Nintendo failed to get third-party support or really market the thing properly.

It was a lot better than people give it credit for, assuming you like nintendo games.

I liked the handle too, so useful.

The handle was useful the four times I had to move the GC, but yeah, wtf @ that design choice.

Remember when it debuted at that presser, they had the line of models come out carrying it by the handle?  How absurd was that?

I agree that it was a great little machine though.  My favorite of last gen aside from a hacked xbox.

Nintendo should have made their N64 games for GC, and their GC games for the N64 where everythign would have been consistent.

Haha, I was just going to link to that thread in here. It still shocks me how few people are willing to admit that the N64 was kind of a POS.  ::) That said I love my cube long time.

SNES :bow :bow :bow
N64 :-X
Gamecube :bow
Wii :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X

the n64 hardware may have been poop on a stick, but - BUT! it's game library is possibly the best ever on a Nintendo console

FACT - I had more fun with N64 than any other console (note, I say console, deliberately excluding the almighty PC)

all gamecube games were possible on the PS2 but wouldn't look as good and would have to be played on an inferior controller.
Now it is true.  ;)

Dunno about the second part, but I can half agree with the first one (assuming you're referring to Nintendo's own titles). Didn't like NES aside from Tetris and SMB3, and GC was pretty disappointing all around.
