Author Topic: Today we saw an incredibly nerdy license plate (Read 4385 times)

So we were on the way to Fry's to buy shit, and Prole points out that the truck in front of us has a license plate with the name of the EAGLE from Lord of the Rings on it. We were going down the highway, so we were going kinda fast, and there was traffic, but I managed to get some clean shots. I had to use digital zoom, which made things kinda grainy, but I cleaned it up.

Note that Prole was the only one who recognized the name on the plate, making him the King of the Nerds, aside from the person that actually requested the plate.

How does someone end up getting such an obscure character name as their license plate? I mean, if I were going down my list of vanity plate choices, and I were so far down on the list that I was looking at the names of obscure LOTR characters, I'd probably give up and tell them to give me the usual alphabet soup.

No, that was with my Canon A710, which is like a higher end point and shoot with a lot of features. That's at 24x zoom, by the way, which is why it's grainy. We were on the highway, so I kinda just had to go with the first camera I could pull out of my coat.

It wasn't like he had to struggle to remember it either. It was like it was natural. "Hey, that truck in front of us has the name of that eagle that helped Gandalf" or something like that.

I saw this one on the way to the local mall to pick my brother up from work.
