Just wondering .... i see IGn put up a story recently about the death of HD-DVD , and noted that hey .. maybe putting blu-ray in ps3 wasn't a bad idea after all .. yeh .. funny that - who would have guessed.

Allways amazed me how short sighted some of the gaming, and tech press is some times, i think blu-ray in ps3 was pretty much the ONLY sensible option for sony, i mean wtf would you have done ??

and ps3 STILL outsold 360 worldwide through '07 .... all up it's worked out almost perfectly, wii maybing impacting things more than sony expected ..but then again i'd suggest ps2 is really more of a direct competing product than real nextgen systems.

And now sony stand to reep a ps2/dvd like effect with now surging ps3 sales due i would bet in large part to warner-gate, and now with walmart going blu-ray exclusive... and ps3 still being the 1st words from salepeople's lips thanks to it's updatability and the 2.0 profile ...


seriously ..in the grand company wide scheme of things ...could it poss be going any better for sony right now?

i haven't played an actual psp game since goku makaimura kai...and that was a rerelease. it showed tremendous initial promise, but there just hasn't been much i want to play. POPSTATION TO THE RESCUE

I get what you're saying though.  I haven't heard much about the PSP '08 lineup other than GOW and FF:Crisis Core, which is why I"m apprehensive about spending $200 for a slim upgrade.

i thought gow was in march sometime...don't know if i'll buy it immediately. actually i shouldn't be so down on psp -- i've got a decent-sized backlog i need to work through. gurumin, mgs portable ops, killzone lib, etc

Sora no kiseki FC and SC are good, the english ones ("I-III) are not so good, i bailed before finishing the 1st one

If even Wollan won't say that Sony sold more in '07, then it probably didn't.    Keep in mind that everyone's just making estimates of the European market.  I suspect the gap was bigger than 100,000 'cause Euro poors don't have as much money as the leader of the free world.
